See Lindsay Lohan in Speed-the-Plow – Tickets from £12.50
Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated West End debuts of the year, Lindsay Lohan will be taking the stage at the Playhouse Theatre to play Karen in David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow. The show officially opens tonight. Previews have generally received positive reviews, despite what the press may have you believe. The theatre review site West End Whingers rated the play 4 out of 5 stars and praised the casting choice.
Directed by Mamet veteran Lindsay Posner and also starring Richard Schiff (The West Wing) and Nigel Lindsay (Four Lions/Shrek the Musical), Speed-the-Plow is a satirical take on the world of Hollywood film production. The original 1988 cast included Madonna in the role of Karen, now played by Lindsay Lohan in the 2014 West End production at the Playhouse Theatre.
This is undoubtedly Linday Lohan's biggest career move in quite some time, after being out of the professional limelight following a number of personal and legal setbacks in recent years. Lohan had started in show business at the age of three and gained critical acclaim for her perfomances in The Parent Trap, Mean Girls and Freaky Friday. As a comeback vehicle, the play has already gained enormous worldwide media attention, as the press and audiences wait to see whether the show will help her reclaim her acting credibility.
This is one of the most anticipated shows of the year and we'd advise you to book tickets early before the ticket rush starts. We've found a great deal on tickets from lastminute.com, with tickets available from £12.50.
